The visit was arranged by Ulley Sailing Club, who secured a Sports England Inspired Facilities bid to pay for the much needed improvements. Tremendous efforts were made to ensure the day went well, and included Wickersley School students’ on the water showing their skill in the new Kayaks.
The Princess had a brief walk in the Park to see the new spillway constructed after the flood in 2007 and then met the various groups involved at the Park, including members of the Wickersley Partnership Trust Outdoor Education Team, David Hudson the CEO of the Partnership Trust and Elaine Renavent the Head of Wickersley School. The Princess Royal even found time to have a bite to eat in the Activity Centre Office, which has never looked as good! Then finished off her visit unveiling a plaque to mark the special occasion.
