Secondary Schools

Ulley Activity Centre has a lot to expertise and experience with secondary school students, whether it is part of an introduction to secondary education for year seven, an alternative curriculum programme or part of a programme for gifted and talented children. We have a lot to offer and would be happy to design a programme tailored specifically to meet your needs and requirements. We can run activities as Full days, half days or a series of lessons. So please get in touch with any questions.

Below are some ideas of courses and programmes we successfully run regularly.

KS3 and KS4 experiences and Lesson Enrichment.

We can run experiences in a range of different outdoor activities such as, Sailing, Kayaking, Canoeing, Archery, Orienteering, Caving, Rock Climbing and Climbing and related activities. These are great as school enrichment activities, reward experiences or for the personal development of students.

GCSE PE Outdoor and Adventurous Activity Units.

With great results we have a range of Adventurous Activities for the three main GCSE PE exam syllabuses. These include Kayaking, Open Canoeing, Sailing, Climbing, Orienteering, Hill Walking and Archery. This will include full delivery and advice on grading.

A Level PE Units.

We have delivered and assessed a number of Adventurous Activities at A level standard. These include Climbing, Kayaking, Sailing and Hill walking. Similar to GCSE these include full delivery and advice on grading.

National Governing Body Awards.

Weather based at or centre or delivered of site we can run a range of National Governing Body awards from DFE sections and expeditions to RYA National Sailing and Power-boating Levels to BCU star awards. These can be used to enhance a BTEC or just for student development.

Alternative Curriculum

We have experience working with children with challenging behaviour and or special educational needs. We can put together a programme of activities, which will be engaging, challenging and rewarding. Which will develop a range of inter personal skills, increase knowledge and provide new experiences.

Staff and Inset Training

We can support your staff in gaining the skill, experience and award needed to run or assist in the running of a range of Outdoor Activities. This can be a way of reducing the cost of a visit to our centre.

Drawing on our experience we can provide support and training courses, which will allow you to effectively run your own Outdoor and Adventurous activity units.
